Copper information:
Worn throughout history even by royalty, copper is believed to have
certain health benefits, like arthritis relief. All my pieces are made
with pure copper. Like all metals, in varying degrees, copper oxidizes
in contact with the environment (air, sweat, chemicals...), that it to
say, it gets darker and develops a patina. Can't be avoided, only
slightly delayed by coating with different finishes (which, again, some
people are sensitive to). On some people this patina rubs off as a green
residue which can easily be washed off with soap and water. I,
personally, like the nuances of copper as it 'ages', especially as it
can quickly and easily revert to bright and polished with a little
"Twinkle Copper Polish" or "Brasso Brass and Copper Polish" (check in
Walmart). Or use salt with a few drops of lemon - rub with a soft cloth
and rinse off very carefully (too much lemon will dull the copper
permanently), dry completely. |
