Gemstone lore:
Moonstone is formed by two species of
feldspar, albite and orthoclase. In the heat of the Earth these two mix,
but as the newly formed Moonstone cools, they separate into layers and
when light hits these different layers we get that wonderful shimmer and
glow. Moonstone is believed to be associated with intuition,
introspection, balancing of emotions, flexibility with the flow of life.
It is also said to protect travellers.
