Fluorite, Berta Mine, Papiol, Spain, 1 7/8" x 1 1/8"

Sweet aqua-green octahedral Fluorite from Papiol, Spain. Nice crystals up to 5mm on the edge, with good definition, sharp edges. The Fluorite from this locality is usually very fluorescent under long and short UV, but I have not tested this particular specimen. Some smaller crystals on the reverse side as well.
Metric size:  4.5cm x  2.7cm,   32grams.

Mineral information:
Fluorite is found worldwide in all sizes and colors, usually in cubic form (cubes), but also as octahedrons (double pyramids) or other isometric forms. Some localities produce Fluorite which fluoresces under UV light; in fact, this phenomenon got its name from the mineral. The Berta Mine in Papiol, Spain generally produces octahedral crystals up to 1cm in shades ranging from palest aqua-blue to emerald-green.
