Did you know that Garnet is called different names, depending on its
chemical composition which is responsible for the colors of the stone?
Thus, there are: Almandine (deep red to reddish brown or purplish brown),Andradite (yellow, green, red, brown, black),
Grossular (colorless, green, pink, white, brown, orange-y), Pyrope (deep
red to almost black), Spessartine (brown, orange, pink), Uvarovite
(emerald green). In fact, Garnet can be almost any shade of any color,
except blue. |
