Vanadinite from Mibladen, Khénifra Province, Morocco, 4 5/16" x 1 3/4"

Fine cabinet-size specimen  of deep orange Vanadinite crystals up to 4mm on white bladed Barite. Very esthetic piece, with well-defined, lustrous crystals  on both sides in clusters and isolated; golden-yellow coating on the Barite and a peppering of Goethite as well. Do look at the close-ups to better appreciate their beauty!
Metric size:  11cm x  4.5cm,   240 grams.

Mineral information:

Vanadinite is a brittle lead-based mineral and certain precautions must be taken with it:  always wash your hands after you handle it, make sure you clean the surface you placed it on of any dust/particles and keep out of kids' reach. I keep mine in display cabinets and that, combined with the promise of a full year of frog legs and haggis served on collard greens - sans dessert! - has been very effective in keeping kids at bay.
